Second Cart Privacy Policy

Effective August 29, 2026

Second Cart is a shared grocery list, pantry, and meal-planning app built for households. This page explains what information Second Cart collects, how it's used, and who it's shared with. We wrote it in plain language on purpose.

The short version

Information you provide

When you create an account and use Second Cart, we store:

Photos and AI-assisted features

Second Cart can read a recipe, a pantry shelf, or a receipt from a photo, screenshot, or PDF you choose, and can suggest meals using AI. When you use one of these features:

Nothing is scanned or sent automatically — these features only run when you tap the scan or AI button yourself.

Who we share information with

We don't sell or rent your information to anyone. It's shared only with:

What we don't do

How long we keep your information

We keep your account and household data for as long as your account exists, so your lists, pantry, and history stay available across your devices. If you leave a household, your personal profile goes with you, but content you added while a member (like list items already checked off) stays with that household's history, the same way it would if a roommate moved out after a shared grocery run.

Your choices and rights

Children's privacy

Second Cart is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we make a material change to this policy, we'll update the effective date above and, where required, let you know in the app.
