The grocery app for two

One list. Two phones. Nobody buys milk twice.

Second Cart is the shared grocery list for couples and households. Add from the couch, split up at the store, and see each other's check-offs land live. Scan the receipt when you're done and it remembers what you paid.

  • Free while in beta, and the shared list stays free
  • Works in your phone's browser today, iPhone app coming soon
  • No ads, ever
  1. Plan

Paste a recipe link or pick a meal. Ingredients already in your pantry come unchecked, so only what's missing goes on the list.

    Then you shop.

  2. Shop together

The same list on both phones, live. Items sorted in your store's aisle order, and a nudge before you pass the budget.

    Then one photo.

  3. Scan the receipt

Review the lines, then save. Paid prices are remembered, you confirm which staples to mark restocked, and the week's spend fills in.

    Then it repeats, and compounds.

Shop together

Split up in the store without splitting the list.

One of you takes produce, the other takes dairy. Every check-off shows up on the other phone as it happens, so you don't double up and you don't leave things behind.

  • Presence. See who's shopping right now, and who checked off what.
  • Aisle order for your store. Department hints you can correct once for your store, and it keeps them.
  • Per-list budgets. A running estimate as you add, and a warning before you cross the line.
Scan the receipt

Finish the trip with one photo.

Photograph the receipt at the car, or upload the emailed PDF from a pickup or delivery order. Second Cart reads the lines, matches them to your list, and shows you everything before it's saved.

  • Prices remembered. Next week's estimate starts from what your household actually paid, not a guess.
  • Pantry kept honest. Buying a staple offers to mark it restocked. One tap to confirm.
  • Spend that adds itself up. Weekly totals and trends, without turning groceries into bookkeeping.
Household memory

It remembers, so neither of you has to.

Every trip teaches it your household's rhythm. That's the part a plain list app doesn't have.

  • Buy again? Oat milk about every 7 days, and it's been 9. Add it with one tap.
  • Bought yesterday. A quiet warning before you add something that's already in the fridge.
  • Price memory. "You paid $4.29 for oat milk last time." Store-by-store comparisons are on the roadmap.
Plan the week

From recipe link to list in one tap.

Paste a recipe link. Second Cart pulls the ingredients, leaves the ones already in your pantry unchecked, and adds the rest to the list you pick. Put it on the calendar and dinner is decided.

  • Recipe import. Works with most recipe sites, quantities included. You review the list before anything is added.
  • Meal calendar. Plan the week; tap a day to see the how-to at the stove.
  • Weekly meal themes. Stuck? Ask for a week of ideas built around what you have. Part of Plus.
Guest lists

Text anyone a list they can shop with you.

Thanksgiving, the roommate run, a birthday party. Share a link and they see the live list and check things off. They sign in, but they never join your household.

Before your first shop

Good to know

Do we both need an account?

Yes. One of you creates the household and shares the invite; your partner signs up and joins in a few taps. Guests you share a single list with also sign in, but they never join your household.

Do we need to download anything?

No. It runs in your phone's browser today, and you can add it to your home screen. The iPhone app is coming soon.

Does it know exact aisles and prices?

It starts with department hints and estimates. Correct an aisle once for your store and it keeps it. Prices come from what your household actually paid, which helps you plan; today's shelf price can differ.

What happens to our receipts?

A photo, a screenshot, or an emailed PDF all work. Scanning uses an AI service to read the lines you choose to save. They become your household's price memory and spend history, and nothing else. No ads, no selling data. The privacy page has the details, including how to delete everything.

Does it need a connection in the store?

Live sharing, sign-in, recipe import, and scanning need one. With weak reception, wait for "Live sync on" before relying on your partner's latest check-offs.

Ready when you both are.

Make a list, invite your person, and go shopping. Takes about a minute.
